TimberPro CS-6150 62 cc 20-Inch Chainsaw Demo and Review (04:54)
Solid 20" Timberpro chainsaw. So far so good!!! Starts right up, just like it says in the user guide: cold start, choke out til it fires, throttle choke closed and wham. First or second pull everytime! Seems to have plenty of power. Was a little hesitant during first hour or so of running... to be expected while breaking in a new motor. Feels like it is breaking in nicely now and revs/runs well. The video here is the some very dense honey locust... the saw eats it right up. This wood is no joke. A great test for any saw.. Factory chains are a little suspect. They dull pretty quickly and are prone to bucking and vibrations. I ordered a few Oregon chains like many have suggested... 21LPX076G from Frawleys Saw Shop - Loggerchain.com Nice service, fast shipping, great website. The chains are clearly superior, have 2+hours on first of three new chains... wondering if I really needed the other two.. this chain stays sharp! For $180 delivered (quickly) to your door, I absolutely would recommend this saw.

  1. Grate Chainsaw 5 Star Review

Works great and is very strong. By the pass of a hurricane to cut the trees was very effective, starts fast, did its job well, like it very much.

  2. Good saw crap chain 4 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Aug 2017

Had this saw for a while now and can't fault it apart from the horrible micky mouse chain that comes with the saw, when I first used the saw you could cut round corners with the thing and no matter how you sharpened and set the chain it would not cut a straight line to save its life. I now see that timberpro is selling a genuine oregon bar and chain set for this saw for £36 as an optional extra or replacement I would rather they just added the extra cost to the saw and supplied it with proper cutting gear to start with rather than a cheap Chinese nock off because a chainsaw is only as good as the chain that is used. I now run this saw with an 18 inch oregon bar and full chisel chain and I also removed all of the stainless mesh from inside the exhaust silencer and it absolutely rips through logs now better than my mates sthil and with no mesh inside the exhaust strangling the engine it has more than enough power now to run a 28 inch bar if you so wish.

  5. Caution with the choke 4 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Aug 2017

Generally a good saw but be aware that pushing the choke control back in does not actually complete this operation and the result will be the engine not starting and possible flooding.
A cautionary tale - thoroughly read the instruction manual first !!
Overall very please for the price

  6. A great replacement saw 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Aug 2017

I bought the CS-6150 to replace two older saws that I have, both 16" saws. I read many reviews on different saws and one for the CS-6150 caught my eye. The price was great considering some of the shipping costs for other saws that I looked at. I was shocked at the speedy delivery time, three days from when I ordered it. I ordered it late Monday, it shipped Tuesday and I got it Thursday that week! From the UK to Colorado! It runs well, cuts well and is not much heavier than my 16" saws. I will have to get used to the 25:1 fuel ratio but not a problem so far.

  7. Good product 4 Star Review

Good little chainsaw. Ideal for heavy domestic use. One caveat, in hot weather this chain saw does not need choke activated. If you do use the choke in hot weather the carburettor floods necessitating removal of spark plug for drying out. Other than that, good cheap chainsaw

  8. Brilliant value but a few words of caution 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Jul 2017

First thing to note - this is a Chinese saw that is branded under several different names. All are pretty much the same. The factory also produces a top handle version with the same overall details. I have had a top handle version in the past and encountered a few issues which I expect could happen with this one too.
    Good things -
Price. Cant quibble on the value front. Sure its not an oregon bar our branded chain but that would add like £50at least. I think the chain will need fairly frequent sharpening (particularly as many buyers are inexperienced and will end up cutting dirt etc) but this is not a massive issue. The bar does not have proper roller bearings in the tip (just a simple bearing) so please lube it frequently.
Assembly and starting - were effortless. Timberpro have included a "getting started" leaflet on the outside of the box which will help home users. Other sellers have not so this is a tick for Timberpro.
General feel, use etc - can't fault it for the price. Power was as expected for a 62cc. I would be cautious going up to the 24" bar. It will eat the power up.
    Not so good -
Chain brake spring is strong which makes application hard. It could break the pin and possibly be hard to apply in a danger situation.
The chain brake cover was slightly misaligned on my sawv which meant that once the bar nuts were fully tightened it tended to put pressure on the chain slightly which would cause wear. The top handle was the same as well. I cut out a shim plate about 1.4mm thick to go between the bar and cover and this cured the problem.
The chain oiler stops oiling if the tank gets down to 1/3 full so refill early.
Final issue is the chain tensioner. It's the same as the top handle was 4 yrs ago. Poor design with a crown gear meshing with a helical. The top handle stripped after a few weeks of use and I needed to weld a screw head onto the end of the shaft. This cured it. But i appreciate that not all users will have a welder.
Summing up. This saw is 1/4 of the price of either of my Huskys and certainly works very well if you know what you are doing. If you are a complete amateur then you may well not spot the small problems early on and end up with a saw failure meaning you will rate it poorly.
If you have no idea about chainsaws then I'd recommend going to a proper shop and getting pro advice and instruction. If you know the score and are handy then 10/10 from me

  9. A good work horse. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 4th Jul 2017

I have had my saw for a year now, it has never faulted, I have felled five large trees and cut them up without any issues.

Generally it looks a bit prehistoric but it is a hardy machine.

Well worth the money, I would purchase another if it broke.

  10. So Pleased 5 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Jun 2017

Not much experience with chain saws, as this is the first one that I've purchased. A little tricky to put together, but once together she handles beautifully. Ideal for sawing logs for the wood burner and have no hesitation in recommending this unit for anyone wishing to purchase a very reasonably priced unit
